Bayer Leverkusen was founded on July 1, 1904. Since 1958, it has played its home games in the BayArena which seats 30 210 spectators. The club won the UEFA Cup in 1988 and in 1993 it took over the DFB Cup. Last season, the team finished in sixth place in the Bundesliga, meaning it will participate in the Europa League next season.
Last season, Leverkusen became undefeated champions of Germany with a huge lead. A great achievement! Under Xabi Alonso, the club has grown into a team that every European top club has to take into account.
